9-Day Sri Lanka Family Tour Package

Your family holiday begins in Negombo, a lively coastal town close to Colombo airport. There are no fixed daytime activities, so arrivals are flexible and stress-free for families. If you arrive early, you can enjoy the beach, hotel pool, or a relaxed walk along the waterfront. At 6 PM your tour leader hosts a welcome meeting with trip guidance and optional dinner plans.

After breakfast, travel north to Wilpattu National Park with scenic stops en route. In the afternoon, switch to safari jeeps and search for leopard, elephant, sambar deer and other wildlife. Wilpattu's mix of forest and natural lakes makes it one of Sri Lanka's most rewarding parks. Tonight, stay in a comfortable fixed safari camp with proper beds and private adjoining bathrooms.

Drive inland to Habarana and continue by tuk-tuk to a local village community. Join a farm-to-table lunch experience, helping prepare traditional Sri Lankan dishes. Enjoy a peaceful canoe ride on the village lake before continuing to Polonnaruwa. Later, explore Polonnaruwa's ancient city by bicycle and on foot with your guide.

Start early to climb Sigiriya Lion Rock while temperatures are cooler. Take in panoramic views from the summit before returning for a late breakfast. Travel to Kandy and visit Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens. In Kandy, explore market streets and optionally visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth.

Journey through lush highland scenery to Kitulgala, Sri Lanka's adventure hub. Enjoy a guided white-water rafting session on the Kelani River (suitable for beginner/intermediate levels). Depending on timing and conditions, there may be an optional jungle walk to a nearby waterfall. Overnight at a characterful riverside lodge surrounded by tropical forest.

After breakfast, travel to your coastal base for the beach segment. The exact coast is selected seasonally for better weather and sea conditions. The afternoon is free for swimming, beach walks and family relaxation. Enjoy a relaxed evening at your hotel.

Enjoy a morning coastal activity based on seasonal routing and conditions. On west coast departures, a surf lesson in Weligama is typically included. The afternoon is free for beach time, local exploration, or optional family activities. You can keep it restful or choose extra sightseeing with your guide's recommendations.

Spend your final beach morning at leisure before the return journey. In the afternoon, take a local coastal train to Colombo with ocean views along the route. If train seating is limited, your support vehicle remains available. Continue to Negombo for your final night in Sri Lanka.

The tour ends after breakfast in Negombo. No fixed activities are planned, so departure timing is flexible. Luggage storage is usually available for later flights. Airport transfers to CMB can be arranged on request (approximately 30 minutes).
